چکیده

With the provoked environmental constraints under extreme climatic events, a better understanding of plant responses to these stresses helps in obtaining sustainable productivity. Wheat is significant cereal crop for burgeoning population; its yield significantly limited by too little water rhizosphere. The ramifications deficiency on wheat can be reduced application vermicompost. objective cope with drought stress, wire-house experiment was established where seedlings two cultivars, viz., Faisalabad-08 and Galaxy-13 (drought-tolerant -sensitive cultivar, respectively) were grown pots exposed mild (D1, 45% field capacity) severe stress (D2, 30% capacity). A control well-watered condition (70% kept comparison. Various rates straw vermicompost (control (VT 0 ), 4 t ha −1 1 6 2 8 3 )), used soil-filled treatments. Our data depicted that compared control, treatments recorded reduction morpho-physiological biochemical attributes maximum conditions. Nonetheless, it observed soil vermicompost, particularly at high rate, ameliorated negative effects drought. Under conditions, positive influence morphological physiological traits VT treatment, which increased root shoot length 27.55 27.85%, fresh weight 26.98 28.20%, dry 40 50.05%, photosynthesis transpiration rate 27.65 49.25%, respectively, average cultivars. Similarly, also adverse effect enhancing antioxidant enzyme activities as superoxide dismutase activity 14.28%, peroxidase 27.28%, catalase 50% treatment. Among Faisalabad-2008 showed comparatively more resistance against stress. findings this work revealed drastically growth productivity wheat; however, soil-applied positively influenced performance

Nitric Oxide Mediates Molybdenum-Induced Antioxidant Defense in Wheat under Drought Stress

Molybdenum (Mo) has been reported to alleviate drought stress by enhancing antioxidant defense in plants, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Here, we hypothesized that Mo mediates nitric oxide (NO)-induced antioxidant defense through Mo-enzymes, particularly by nitrate reductase (NR) in wheat under drought stress. The 30-day-old wheat seedlings cultivated in -Mo (0 μM Mo) and +Mo (1 ...

Evaluation of Leaf Proteome in Wheat Genotypes Under Drought Stress

Drought stress in plants, the change (increase or decrease) in the production of plant proteins. Antioxidant responses of wheat plants under stress

Currently, food security depends on the increased production of cereals such as wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), which is an important source of calories and protein for humans. However, cells of the crop have suffered from the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can cause severe oxidative damage to the plants, due to environmental stresses. ROS are toxic molecules found in variou...

Physiological responses of two wheat cultivars to soil drought.

Young plants of the two wheat cultivars Katya and Prelom, differing in their reaction to drought in the field, were grown in soil in pots, and their water status was assessed as well as the intensity of gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence, and accumulation of compatible solutes and hydrogen peroxide after 7 days of dehydration. It was established that cv. Katya displayed markedly better tole...
